About us

We are a Finnish family business that specializes in groundwater investigations and water acquisition implementations. Our office is located in Helsinki and our depot is in Vääksy. Our hard-working and professional team consists of about ten people and thus we are skilled but flexible. We also put value on being responsible and making sustainable choices.

We know our clients well and our services are never faceless. We have good relationships to our clients and the relationships typically last for decades. The longest and still on-going relatioships to our clients have started already in the 1970s. The partnerships wiht our customers are result from close communication and understanding on all levels in the organisation.

It is important for us that we continuously develop based on the needs of our clients and the field. This can also be seen from the development of our company througout its history:

Our story starts already in the 1940s when Finland, developing and recovering from the war, needed clean and safe drinking water. At that time, Sergei Samsonoff-Reijonen and his sons Veli, Toivo and Yrjä Reijonen founded Suomen Porakaivo Oy that specialized in bore well construction in Finland. Suomen Porakaivo Oy was later dissolved but its work was continued by our other company.

Later, the need for water increased and thus increased also the need for higher-yield wells. Therefore, Veli Reijonen founded Veli Reijonen Oy in the 1970s. Veli Reijonen Oy continued the work of Suomen Porakaivo Oy and it is the longest-operated well construction company in Finland.

We used this kind of drill for well drilling until the year 1978.

When the easily accessible groundwater reservoirs decreased over time, the stadards for groundwater investigations became higher. At that time the sons of Veli Reijonen, Risto and Jussi Reijonen, entered the picture and Suomen Pohjavesitekniikka Oy was founded to answer to the increasing need for groundwater investigations.

In the 1990s and 2000s we developed our own investigation machinery to respond to our clients' demanding investigation needs. As a proof of our machinery's accuracy and precision we are the only company in Finland that gives a guarantee for the well yield to the wells that are implemented with our procedures.

When the water permit processes became more complicated in the 2000s, we started to offer our clients help with the permit documents. Additionally, we started to offer juridical expertise and services concerning water and environmental legislation to take care of our client's interest.

We are still following the development of the field and listening to our clients' wishes and needs. Our aim is to develop our expertise and services continuously for the future needs and to develop as a responsible company that considers the demands of the changing world. The challenges of the future will be faced by the fourth generation of our company: Petri, Samu and Matias Reijonen.
