As the protection of the environment and the permit processes have tightened, more detailed and more frequent groundwater level measurement data is required. In such cases automating the groundwater level measurements is a practical solution, as it enables very frequent and precise measurements. We offer automatisation of groundwater level measurement comprehensively from planning to implementation.
We import the most used automatic groundwater level measurement devices in Finland. The devices are produced by Keller, and we have discovered that these devices are reliable, accurate and precise also in demanding conditions. As the devices are of high quality, our customers still have even 15-year-old Keller devices in use. Regardless, we are still collaborating in the development work of the devices with Keller to make the devices even better in the future.

We plan the measurement network and the measurement setup or the devices, program the measurement schedule and details to the devices and install the devices in the field. Moreover, after the installation, we still check that the automation system works as it should.

The most advanced and typically used measurement device is Keller ARC-1. It is typically installed inside an observation well or in a separate stand. The only part visible from the automation device is the communication antenna. The device is battery operated and it minimizes the battery use by turning only on for measurements and sending the measurement results. Being battery operated enables the flexible use of the device as it does not require electrical grid. Thanks to advanced technology and the efficient antenna the typical battery life for the device is over five years.
The device measures the water level with pressure sensor and the measured data is compared to the reference level automatically and the water level relative to the sea level is saved. The device makes the measurements and sends the data at programmed intervals. The device sends the data through 4G or LORA network to the server defined by the user.

Automatisation also makes the processing of the measurement results easier. The results are in a table where checking and using them is very easy.
The measurement devices send data to the server defined by the user. The server can be maintained by the user in which case the user manages all the data and is responsible of the data being safe. The measurement systems support systems commonly used in Finland, such as EMMI or GWM. If the client chooses to use an external storage service, the responsibility of storing the data moves to the provider of the service. In addition, Keller offers the PressureSuite Cloud data reading system free of charge. PressureSuite is adequate for typical monitoring and reporting of water withdrawal required by the authorities.
